Another voice actor that departed in August 10, 2024, was Rachael Lillis, an American voice actress who is famous for the Pokémon series. Her death has affected the anime and gaming society in which she was famed for dubbing characters such as Misty and Jessie among others. Lillis had been a breast cancer fighter; the illness had reached her spine, putting her in a precarious state for months before she succumbed to it (Anime News Network) (PinkNews).
Lillis has been active in the performing arts since her high school times with her start being as a theater actress but she became most popular through voice acting in anime. They simultaneously became very important for the Pokémon success in the United States thanks to her performance as Misty – a young female Water-type Pokémon trainer dressed in blue swimsuit and Jessie – a fashionable and slightly overbearing member of Team Rocket dressed in black and red.
